Lifetime’s newest original film, Sweet Mountain Christmas, will kick off the movie event at 8 p.m. ET. The film stars Megan Hilty, who portrays country music star Laney Blu who gets stranded in her small Tennessee hometown after a terrible snow blizzard arrives, according to the film’s synopsis. Being stranded at home during the holidays is a very serious problem for Laney for two reasons: She’s scheduled to headline a Christmas concert in New York City, and she hates her hometown. As she suffers stuck in a place with far too many bad memories, Laney meets a handsome snowplow driver named Robbie (Marcus Rosner) who helps reshape her perspective of everything her native home has to offer.
Following the debut of Sweet Mountain Christmas, the cable network will air brand new holiday films each weekend leading up to Christmas.
The movie lineup includes a number of Lifetime fan-favorite actors such as Melissa Joan Hart and Ricardo Chavira, who are set to star in Christmas Reservations; Keshia Knight Pulliam in Radio Christmas; Kyla Pratt, Rachel McLaren and Ed Ruttle in No Time Like Christmas; Marie Osmond, Marla Sokoloff and Rob Mayes in The Road Home for Christmas; Loretta Devine, Adelaide Kane and Greyston Holt in A Sweet Christmas Romance and Kelly Rowland, who will star in Merry Liddle Christmas.
