IYER: Shady 2K? Why to buy into LeSean McCoy rushing for 2,000 yards
Now, it’s not entirely sure whether McCoy’s tweet is truthful. We only have one photo from his personal Twitter account and no video exists that we know of. You can see the benefit of catching the ball blindfolded, increasing the tactile response of his fingers separate from his eyesight, but McCoy also includes a reference to his nickname “Shady” so it could just be a plug for his new Nike training shoe that comes out on Sept. 15.
Still, it would be fun to see what other crazy methods athletes take to in the name of gaining a competitive advantage. Maybe LeBron is taking all his threes while hopping on his left foot this summer? Or perhaps Mike Trout is roaming the outfield wearing a right-handed glove?
Maybe McCoy is preparing for another Super Bowl 47 situation and he wants to be ready to play in the dark. The possibilities are endless.
