Former Nittany Lions star and NFL linebacker LaVar Arrington announced he will name his soon-to-be-born daughter “Penn” after his alma mater.

A Pittsburgh native, Arrington played at Penn State under coach Joe Paterno from 1997 to 1999. The former All-American won the Butkus, Bednarik and Lambert awards in 1999 before the Redskins selected him with the second overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft.
