It turns out, that’s as true for animals as it is for people, with footage of a Dalmatian creatively shushing his noisy little sister putting the internet in hysterics.

Captioned “he was so over her b*******,” TikTok users have been comparing the doggy duo to human siblings.

Since being shared on October 18 by user @_cassy_jo, the hilarious clip has received over 2 million likes and more than 16 million views.

From Sibling Rivalry to BFFs

Introducing a puppy to an older dog can be a challenge, but there is plenty that owners can do to help them bond.

The American Kennel Club (AKC) recommends introducing an older dog to a new puppy in a calm, neutral environment, such as at the park. For safety reasons, ensure both dogs are on leashes and are being handled by different people.

If this goes well and the dogs show sign of assimilation—such as sniffing each other’s butts, attempts to play, or yawning—then you can move their next meeting to your home.

Provide your puppy with its own bed and toys that are separate from your older dog’s items, and ensure your older dog has their own space for when the puppy gets too playful or boisterous. Making sure your puppy has enough exercise to wear them out can also help with this, while ensuring you give equal attention to both pets will help to prevent jealousy.

‘He really said CHOMP’

In the video, Cassy’s older dog—an adult Dalmatian—and his new puppy sister can be seen sitting next to each other on the sofa. The puppy keeps barking loudly, while the older dog looks more and more annoyed.

All of a sudden, the older Dalmatian jumps calmly over the sofa, turns to his sister and bites her on the nose. Fortunately, no puppies were harmed in the making of this video, with the older dog giving her a gentle bite—that still manages to cover her whole snout.

TikTok users couldn’t get enough of the dog’s dramatic reaction to his new sibling’s barking, with Wonder_Monkey70 writing: “DIDN’T EXPECT THAT.”

“I love that he got completely off the couch just to do that,” said Kushprincess91.

Some users compared the two dogs to human siblings, with Custom queen calling the footage an “accurate older sibling reaction.”

“That is me and my brother,” said joshnafus5.

“She wants to play and he’s having NONE OF IT HAHAHA,” wrote melnewton.

While Rachel Calderon commented: “I love how even animals have the same sibling dynamics we do.”

The Dalmatian isn’t the only one annoyed by puppy antics. A senior Labrador refusing to play with his dog sitter’s two puppies recently had TikTok users in stitches, while a 15-year-old dog “falling in love” with his new puppy sibling melted hearts around the internet.
