MARGOLIS: What will the AOL-Time Warner deal mean for Latin America?

ESPUELAS: Their coming together will have a minimal impact in the immediate future. Remember, local knowledge and local content are the keys to the Internet. AOL is a latecomer to Latin America, and Time Warner is not very big in the region. However, this is an interesting example for Latin America, where you have a lot of large media companies, none of whom are big players as yet in the Internet. This may force these companies to rethink their strategies somewhere down the line.
