The viral sensation who became affectionately known as “mop boy” (real name António Lourenço Van-Dúnem), and who also goes by ‘Toy’, captured people’s imagination with his emphatic displays of athleticism and joy when cleaning the court.

It is this dedication and love of the game that led to a cameo for him in FIBA’s latest promotional video for the upcoming qualifiers, which will be taking place across all continents from June 28th to July 2nd.

This tournament is the first time that qualifying games have taken place in this format, providing fans with the opportunity to see their national basketball team play live, and without having to travel to the destination of the finals. The sense of pride and passion that seeing your country playing on home soil inspires is what initially drove the #ThisIsMyHouse slogan associated with the FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifiers.

In the latest video, just released, we see how taking pride in your home court goes far beyond just the players competing.
