Brown said he’s “sick” of what’s going on with the Sixers, and he’s confident he could help.

“It’s an unbelievable basketball city and I had a great experience there,” Brown told Sheridan Hoops. “I don’t want to get on them when they’re struggling, but they don’t have any veteran leadership. I want to help. I could straighten it out in five minutes.”

Now coaching at SMU, Brown is currently serving a nine-game NCAA suspension for academic fraud and unethical conduct in his program.

Brown coached the Sixers from 1997-2003, teaming up with Allen Iverson to lead the franchise to the 2001 NBA Finals. He says he’d love to see his former star rejoin the franchise in a meaningful way.

“I wish they’d get Allen involved,” Brown said. “All those young kids worship him.”

Considering the Sixers’ woeful record, bring Iverson aboard doesn’t seem like it would hurt.
