The victim alerted the Martin County Sheriff’s Office on September 30, after she found cameras inside the house, according to an arrest report obtained by Newsweek.

When police arrived at the duplex, police found cameras which were said to be in or part of an electrical outlet in the child’s bedroom and bathroom.

The camera in the bathroom was found to face the toilet and shower while the second camera was next to the child’s bed, according to authorities.

Girls are at higher risk of being victims of sexual abuse than boys, according to the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network (RAINN).

It added that 57,329 children were victims of sexual abuse in the 2016 financial year. RAINN said 82 percent of all victims under the age of 18 are girls.

In the arrest report, Deputy T. Lower believed the landlord, Bruce Wayne Grady, 61, installed the cameras as he was “caught in the residence on September 12.”

Grady, who owns the duplex, lives in one unit, and the other unit is rented to the victim’s family.

According to the arrest report, Grady denied the existence of and placing the camera but admitted to having been in the residence to carry out electrical work. He claimed the breaker “kept flipping” and that he entered the residence to see why.

When asked, Grady handed his cell phone to police where they found several pictures of the victim while she used the pool in the backyard.

Police then found a secure folder in his phone that was password locked. Once Grady provided that information, deputies said they found nude videos and pictures of the victim.

The report stated Grady then admitted to having installed both cameras and he had bought them off eBay.

Grady was taken to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office where he was asked several questions about the cameras and content found on his phone.

When questioned by police about why he put the photos in the trash file, Grady “stated he was not sure.”

The arrest report continued: “Grady stated he was using the app LookCam. Grady would go on to explain he was fighting his inner demons and would install and uninstall the app several times.

“Grady explained that he would have to go to the app and download the photo or video for it to end up in his gallery. I asked Grady about the underwear photos taken of used underwear that were also in the trash bin. Grady stated they were in the victim’s underwear.”

He is facing two counts of video voyeurism by a 24-year-old or older on a child younger than 16.

In September, a California church parishioner was arrested after hidden cameras were found inside the women’s bathroom.

Stephen Ramirez, 32, allegedly planted two recording devices inside the women’s restrooms at the L.A. Pentecostals Church located at 8300 Eastern Avenue in Bell Gardens just outside Los Angeles.

Bell Gardens police said officers were called to the church after staff found the cameras on August 29.
