The Lakers announced the 20-year-old Russell will be out a minimum of two weeks and will be re-evaluated in one week. He is averaging 16.1 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.4 rebounds in 13 games this season.

Russell, who was the No. 2 overall pick in last year’s NBA Draft, played 23 minutes Sunday in the Lakers’ 118-110 loss to the Bulls. He was 3 of 11 from the floor for eight points.
The Lakers have nine games scheduled over the next two weeks, beginning Wednesday night at Golden State as part of a home-and-home with the Warriors, who will come to Staples Center on Friday.
