During Thursday’s Season 2 premiere of Hulu’s The Kardashians, the momager, 66, gave viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the property while chatting with daughter Khloé Kardashian.
“This is a cute little place, I must say so myself,” Jenner told the new mom of two.
“I forgot you even had this place,” Kardashian, 38, responded, before asking, “When was the last time you’ve been here?”
“Christmas,” Jenner said, noting the pad is her “gift wrapping station.”
The Good American founder—who shares kids True, 4, and a newborn baby boy with ex Tristan Thompson—added, “I can’t wait to be wealthy enough to forget I have property somewhere.”
“Just like, ‘Oh, I have a condo in Beverly Hills, I forgot about that,” the producer said in a British accent.
“I forgot about it,” Jenner joked, also with an accent.
In a separate confessional, the San Diego, California native explained: “Here’s the thing. I have a condo, and my mom has one, and my cousin has one and we all live nearby. I kind of forgot it was there.”
Following Jenner’s remarks, it didn’t take long for Twitter to light up with comments slamming the reality star.
“Yeah, considering many in this country are struggling to buy groceries. Read the room,” writer Marielle Songy wrote via her verified account.
A second added: “Kris Jenner is so rich she completely forgot she owned a condo in Beverly Hills. Must be nice. Smh,” while a third said, “Kris Jenner saying she forgot she had a condo in Beverly Hills boils my blood. There are people who are homeless and who would give anything for a roof over their heads!”
“The @kardashianshulu is the most tone deaf show/family. People all over are suffering—the pandemic, inflation, war, jobs loss, housing crisis, climate change, natural disaster… to name a few,” a fourth agreed. “And @KrisJenner ‘forgets’ she has a multi-million dollar condo in Beverly Hills.”
It is unclear how much Jenner purchased the property for.
A separate user, meanwhile, said: “It sounds very annoying that you have so much money that you forget you have a whole condo when there are people homeless, like I dead don’t like the family at all, they all tone death asf and annoying, why do they still have a show?”
“This lady Kris Jenner done forgot she had a condo. Lady what???” someone else wrote. “I live to be that set.”
“Are you kidding me?? You have a Beverly Hills condo just to ‘wrap’ presents?” asked another. “Pathetic.”
Newsweek reached out to Jenner’s representative for comment.
Several people, however, defended the businesswoman.
“LMAO I love Kris Jenner—forgets she has a condo and the fridge is full of champagne,” one person tweeted, while another wrote, “@KrisJenner forgetting that she has a Beverly Hills condo is like me forgetting I have student debt. It’s there, but it’s not something I think about @kardashianshulu.”
The backlash comes following criticism over Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian, who recently violated drought rules in California.
According to a report from The Los Angeles Times published in August, the sisters were among more than 2,000 customers who were sent “notices of exceedance” by the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District.
The customers who received the notices used 150 percent or more of their monthly water budgets at least four times since the district declared a drought emergency last year.
The district is now allowed to install flow restrictor devices on the properties that received the notices.
Neither Kim Kardashian nor Kourtney Kardashian have spoken out about the report.
