Bryant’s salary makes up about a third of the Lakers total cap expenditure. He will be paid $23.5 million this year, and the Lakers’ total payroll is $76.8 million. On the other hand, Nowitzki will make $7.7 million, while Parsons will pull in a max of $14.7 million.
But the sacrifice Nowitzki made put the Mavericks at 9-3 and in position to compete within the Western Conference. The Lakers are 3-9 after they used the remainder of their money to bring in Carlos Boozer and Jeremy Lin, who are not serious hauls.
Still, Bryant believes he did enough for the team.
