On Monday, the reality TV star and entrepreneur, 42, shared a selfie that showed her posing in a thong bikini from her SKIMS swimwear collection.

In the photo, Kardashian’s famed posterior took center stage as she posed with her back to a sliding glass door and used her smartphone to capture the image.

Captioning the photo, the ex-wife of Kanye “Ye” West tied her pose to the approaching new year, writing: “Looking back at ‘22 [winking face emoji].”

While Kardashian has long been known among fans for proudly displaying her curves on social media and in photoshoots, the reaction to her latest post appeared to show something of a changing tide.

“Really Kim?! Come on…. I know you don’t care but gosh this is so cringe,” wrote one detractor, followed by another who commented: “Cover up and act your age.”

“She’s getting desperate now y’all,” while another accused her of “trying too hard these days.”

Discussing the mother of four’s eldest daughter, another critic said: “Hope North doesn’t take a picture like this one day! Monkey see monkey do! Respect your babies! This is traumatizing!”

While the post attracted a wave of criticism, it has received more than 3.7 million likes as of press time. Kardashian’s friends La La Anthony and Olivia Pierson were among the several positive comments that were shared on the post.

Back in September, Balenciaga brand ambassador Kardashian said during an appearance on Good Morning America that she and her family have found it easier to deal with public criticism and scrutiny over the years.

“It has gotten easier, because I think you just get to a level where you see that so much of it is noise, and we have each other, we have us as a support system,” she told GMA host Michael Strahan. “I couldn’t do it without my family.”

“Just because when there’s maybe a little too much noise, everyone’s there just to be like, ‘OK we know what’s real. We know what’s happening,” she went on. “This doesn’t matter. Let’s all just come back to what we know, and that’s each other.’

“And I feel so grateful that we had all of those experiences at the same time so we can really lean on each other.”

Also in September, Kardashian addressed critics who questioned why she became famous, telling Interview magazine: “Just because we’re not singing and dancing and acting on the show doesn’t mean that the fame didn’t come from that.

“I mean, I can give you a million f****** talents. I can cook well, use my toes for anything. I could tell you the weirdest f****** s*** on the planet.

“But I think my talent is marketing and the business behind selling products and knowing what the customer wants and making it feel attainable, but also a bit unattainable at the same time. I wouldn’t say that’s a talent. I think it’s a bit of magic and business savvy. Maybe it is talent, I don’t know.”
